The Network meets each month, and more often in the lead up to 26 May each year.
During 2005, a Learning Circle met over 10 weeks. This is a small informal discussion group that uses prepared material to explore information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and issues. More Learning Circles are expected to be offered in the Canberra area.
A number of sub-groups report to the Network:
A Planning Group is formed each year to organise events in the Canberra area to commemorate 26 May, the anniversary of the National Sorry Day held in 1998.
A sub-committee manages the Sustaining Ngunnawal Culture Strategy. This is an initiative of the Ngunnawal community, the Aboriginal traditional owners in the Canberra area. For further information on the Sustaining Ngunnawal Culture Strategy Sub-Committee, please contact Ricki Dargavel.

The Implementation Task Force monitors local action towards the Bringing them home recommendations, and published an independent community progress report in 1999, 2000 and 2002.
The Records Task Force earlier aimed to increase access to records for members of the stolen generations and their families. This group worked with churches to make their records more available. It has also worked with the ACT Government which surveyed its records earlier in 2002 to identify information that could assist members of the stolen generations to find their families of origin. The ACT Government published a finding guide for any of its records that may be relevant.
